Seamwork Mina and Knox

Seamwork Mina and Knox

If you saw me Opening Night of Sidewalk Film Festival, you got a special sneak peek of Seamwork’s latest pattern. Introducing Mina – a babydoll dress/top with a pleated waist detail and retro silhouette. I made the dress version of Mina (because I rarely say “no” to a dress) and it sewed up so quickly that I considered not writing a blog post.  It’s so comfy and cute and the perfect dress to swish around in.

Since I’m back working from home, I decided to sew this dress using this beautiful organic cotton poplin that was gifted to me from Kaleidoscope Studio.  This fabric is named “In The Neighborhood – Night” and it’s from their quarantine-themed Panorama collection.  This fabric feels silky on the skin and pairs perfectly with the simple silhouette of Mina.

The next pattern for September is Knox – a stylish pinafore with deep pockets that’s perfect for layering.  I made the bonus version which plays around with the side panels by adding a faux wrap detail to the pockets.  I used leftover waxprint for this pattern, so it’s a great stash buster if you only have 2 or 3 yards of fabric.  At just above knee-length, Knox is great for wearing in warm weather or pairing with tights or boots for cold weather.

Both of these patterns sewed up quickly in just an afternoon, so you might as well spend your weekend making both!
