Even though we’re deep in the holiday season, no one has mentioned that to Mother Nature. It’s been in the 60s and 70s all week with no chilly weather in the forecast. Since I can only stare longingly at my sweater collection for so long, I’m thrilled that Friday Pattern Company released a new pattern that I can wear now! Introducing the Saturday Skirt Set – a wrap top and a midi length skirt that comes in sizes XS – 7X (36.5-63.5″ chest). Lucky for me, I was asked to be a tester for this pattern. I searched my stash picked out this gorgeous viscose challis from Blackbird Fabrics. I like to think of this set as the Saguaro Set’s sexy older sister – I just adore it!

The top is a cozy collared wrap top with billowing long sleeves. The top can be wrapped in several ways, but I found wrapping the straps around the front of my bra before tying in a bow looked best on me. I plan on playing around with ties more in the future. At first glance, the skirt looks simple enough – a classic A-line silhouette – but there are some wonderful details in it. First, of course, are the pockets. There are some juicy, roomy pockets in the skirt, and I will always appreciate when I don’t have to add my own. Secondly, the back waistband uses elastic, which is great if you’ve got that thang in the back like me 😂 Finally, since the front of the skirt is just a plain band, there’s nothing to fight the ties from the top. This is such a well-though out, beautifully designed pattern. But don’t take my word for it – try it yourself!
